Getting a new card on friday not sure which to go for.
Current PC Specs:
AM2+ 4800 @3.0ghz
GeIL 2GB PC2-6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency
Asus M2N-MX SE 1 x PCI Express x16
22inch Diamond Plus 230sb CRT
Asus ATI Radeon EAH3450
PSU:EZcool 500w +12vdc 36a

budget:£130
Been looking at the current offers

EVGA GeForce 8800 GT 512MB KO GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI £125.71 inc VAT
PNY GeForce 8800 GT 512MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI £108.09 inc VAT
PowerColor ATI Radeon HD 3870 XT Extreme 512MB GDDR4 TV-Out/Dual £111.61 inc VAT

By the reviews the 3870 has a large fan and can be quite noisy which i dont want,The evga and pny seem the best choice but if it worth the extra £18 for the evga?

Also i no my psu is a cheapo so would i be best to get the current offer /Corsair TX 650W ATX2.2 SLi Compliant PSU @ £55.21 inc VAT

Cheapest GT and a new psu would be what i would do.As you said the psu you have Might not be up to the job.Sure someone else will respond to the thread and tell you 100% .

Bit worried with this psu ,Im going to get the corsair 650w to be safe.
Deference between the evga and pny
Pny-core running at 600MHz
Evga-core running at 675MHz
Pny-Shader Clock Speed of 1500MHz
Evga-Shader Clock Speed of 1675MHz
Pny-512MB GDDR3 Memory running at 1800MHz
Evga-512MB GDDR3 Memory running at 1950MHz
Pny-Memory Bandwidth: 57.6GB/
Evga- Memory Bandwidth: 60.6GB/s

Also the evga has 10 Year Warranty Direct with EVGA
Or would i just be best off saving £18 and grabbing the pny

Cheapest 8800 GT, and your current PSU should be fine.

Everyone seems to be going PSU bonkers, a 500W PSU with 36a on the 12V rail will be fine for pretty much most cards.
