Out of these would you get (all brand new)?

MSI 9800GX2 - £130

ASUS 4870 512Mb - £140

MSI GTX 260 216sp OC - £150

MSI 4870 1Gb - £160

If the results from the lastest Anandtech multi GPU tests are to be believed the GX2 seems to have the best value, capable of higher fps in all games bar FC2 but I don't play that. Only thing is it runs hot and noisy and I'm a bit worried about having only 512mb vram.

9800GX2, but it uses more power than a house and gets very hot. It also needs an 8-pin connector which might be a problem.

On balance of everything, I'd go for the 4870 1GB, but it's a difficult choice.

Depends on the resolution you're gaming at really.

Difficult one then - whilst that's the resolution the GX2 was designed for, the 512mb of frame buffer per GPU is limiting. Can you stretch to a GTX 280? I know there aren't many about anymore but it's slightly faster than the GX2 without the limited frame buffer and possible problems with SLi.

Wish I can :(

Cheapest one over here that I can find is £230, whilst not a bad price I don't think I'm prepared to spend that much. Also in the Anandtech review it also seems to be slower in most games than the GX2 but yeah when SLI is not working the 280 will shine in comparison.
