Hey guys. I'm currently contemplating which setup is best for gaming. Currently I'm using an HD 6770 on an M5A78L-M LX Mobo with a 960t cpu.

I've been leaning towards either an nvidia 560ti or an HD 6950 and getting rid of the 6770 but for the same price nearly I could change the Mobo to an Asus M5A97 pro and get another 6770 and put em in xfire.

Any thoughts guys

TIA

Thanks for your thoughts.

Is there any special requirements for this newer card ie min power needed etc as I'm using a 650w CM bronze that came with my CM 690 II case

Also looking at that review, my resolution is always at 1920 x 1200 as attached to my tv so is that going to affect the performance showing that the 580 was better

Ah, so you will be gaming at 1920x1080?

In that case you will pretty much need to extrapolate from the 1200p and 1050p results (or find a different review that does 1080p, like this one).

To be clear, the HD 7870 and GTX 580 are better/faster cards, but they cost £275 and £300 respectively. In contrast the HD 7850 is expected to be around £200 when it launches.

The HD 7850 also offers 2GB of Video memory, which should be useful if you are doing 3D CAD.

Well it outdoes the 6950 which what was aiming at on my res so it looks like the winner. Don't really like going overboard on a single item for the price of the 7870 (plus the missus wouldn't like it lol)

Ok cool. Does it really matter which brand is purchased? Say for instance if I bought the Asus version would it perform slightly better for being on an Asus board?
