Which card?

Hi all,
A friend is in the process of upgrading his rig and is considering buy either a
550 ti or xfx 6870.
which card should be go for? he's looking at playing arma 2 and bf3.

The 6870 is the clear winner.

thanks for the quick reply, only problem he has is that he's getting the card first then mobo, ram etc, at present he's using one of my old rigs, amd 5000x2 black edition with 8gb 6400 ram. surely it'll bottleneck if he does go ahead and buys the 6870?

If he's upgrading, might as well buy the better card now. He'd still see the same bottleneck with the 550ti, however when he upgraded to a newer board etc, he wont see as much gain in comparison to the 6870.

That's how i view things anyway.
