I have a spare £250 so am looking at a new graphics card and I'm looking at either
Sapphire Radeon R9 280X Vapor-X OC 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Card with BattleField 4 PC Game Included
Or
EVGA GeForce GTX 770 SC ACX Dual Bios 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (02G-P4-2776-KR)

I'm not really bothered about the nvidia AMD debate, which is the better card between the 2

Ever thought of crossfiring your 7950? It would give amazing performance in games that scale if you're comfortable with a dual GPU setup. It would bury a 770 or a 280X but if you're looking for one GPU the 280X is your best bet over the 770 as it will fare better with next gen games next year due to the 3GB frame buffer, extra bandwidth and Mantle could give bonus fps in games that support it. Just that even the 280X is not much of a upgrade on a 7950 to make it worthwhile. You are looking at a 290 to be a worthy upgrade on a 7950.

The MSI Gaming should have better build quality than the Vapor-X and make less noise due to those dual 100mm fans. There is just a little quirk on that Gaming 280X that's been picked up in reviews that the power connectors are a bit blocked by the cooler so could be a bit of a pain to remove if it's tightly fitted.
