Hi,

Getting my new iphone tomorrow and I just wondered what case and screen protector people are buying ? Any recommendations ??

Thanks

Don't bother with a screen protector.
I kept my V1 iPhone in my pocket with my keys and change since it was first released and not a single scratch has appeared on the screen.

Invisible shield or Best Skins is all I use on my mobile/mp3 players. Faultless and you don't end up sacrificing your devices initial size for some bloated case.

i used to think the phone needed a screen protector as well.

It doesnt though lol. The screen is solid and not a scratch has appeared on it.

I just have it in a black incase slider, so it looks like the 3g iphone lol people were asking me for weeks if i had the new iphone already.

Doesnt need a screen protector at all. :D

The whole concept of cases and screen protectors is completely unfathomable to me.
Why would one buy a piece of technology that has had it's ergonomics researched and developed so it's both beautiful to behold and satisfying to handle, and then ruin it by encasing it in some cheap £10 piece of plastic?

It seems to me to be like going to Saville Row, buying a stunning 3 piece business suit and then wearing a binliner over the top of it to stop it getting dirty/damaged.

Let your iPhone breathe.

Lucky :/ I've had my V1 for 2 days and there is a 3mm scratch across the screen :/

Got to get a sock for it lol

Exactly how I feel, hence why I use 'shields'. At least I know that when I drop a spanner (have done loads) on my pmp/phone, it's screen isn't going to be scratched. I just hate cases full stop.

Don't suppose you know what the Best Skins back cover is like for the 3G? I got the Invisible Shield this morning and the front cover took 2 minutes to fit, but the back cover is a massive piece of NO SWEARING. It tries to cover the sides so installing it properly (in alignment with the buttons and no bulging) is a nightmare.

Not got an iphone yet so I've not ordered a shield just yet. I know what you mean though, the thought of doing the rear with one fills me with dread. It was a bit of a headache getting the rear onto my ipod touch due to its curves.

Basically you need to moisten the shield a bit in the corners and hold them in place for a few minutes. Easier said than done...

I was just about to order the Invisible Shield but im not so sure now. Are you happy with the front ?

Yeah, the front is solid. No probs at all - took less than five minutes to get it on and to get all of the water/bubbles out.

The problem with the back is on the corners. If I flatten out the corners using the palming method, the bits covering the top and bottom crumple. The top is the real problem because it has to be perfectly aligned to allow the headphones in and the SIM tray out. I've ordered a back skin from Best Skins Ever for about $6, which I expect will be better because (unlike IS) they actually waited to get their hands on the 3G before making the shields.

I've got an invisible shield on the front of mine, took me 2 attempts to get a fit I was happy with (about 10 minutes). Does the job very well although the plastic is not as smooth under your finger as the naked screen is.

I took one look at the back piece and didnt even bother trying :p
