I need to get a new case to repleace my crappy old one and im torn between a cm690 or spending a bit more for the p182. how loud is the 690 cus i was thinking of adding a few more fans to it and whats the cooling like for the p182? Any opinions appreciated!

I really like my cm690, looks cool, excellent airflow and cable management is good. it takes 120mm fans so noise is not an issue imo.

Note, if u buy an 80mm fan to go behind the CPU it needs to be an 80 x 25 x 15 - i cant find one anywhere so have a 80 x 25 x 25 but this bends the back panel out a bit but still closes.

Some etailers stock a side window for the cm690 if you wanted one...

I have the CM690, nice case although cooling seems to be a bit of an issue with me.

I've swapped one of the top fans around to bring in air rather than extract it, apart from that a good case!

I would vote for the 690 too, though havent used the 182 so cant comment on that. Seems pretty good to me, with the scope for a good number of fans and seems big enough for a watercooling kit (PA120.2 maybe?) in there.

There is also a side window available for it if needed, i purchased it direct from Coolermaster and am very happy with it as only shows what needs to be shown off.

Another one for the CM690 vote. Excellent cooling capabilities. Excellent cable management. Quiet. Looks the part. Only real downside is weight.

You can fit a PA120.2 to the top of the case if you are prepared to modify the top end of the panel. You will probably need to get some low profile 120mm fans though to get the top to clip back down properly which are non existant in the UK!

I have stuck a 120mm radiator on the bottom of my case like this:

The watercooling cools my nice little overclock adequately. Not tried to push any higher. TAT reports the cores generally to be around 25C (Idle) and have had it clocked at the current speed for a few months now, no problems.

E6750 (2.66ghz) @ 3.6ghz.

Image of the rear of the motherboard plate - a complete mess to be honest! I still want to hide a few more cables and I may have to get the drill out to help with this! :D:D

Definately the 690!

The stock fans are a bit loud, so you could replace them if you are very picky on the noise, but other than that the case is awsome!

I like the way the hard drives mount in, saves so much mess if you ask me!

Just a suggestion, I think your SATA cables would look better if they went straight down and then behind the radiator (if they would fit there?), that way you could cable tie those cables together so it would look like you only had 2 SATA cables dissapearing down behind the radiator. - The SATA DVDRW would look a lot better with the cable appearing from behind the 5.25" bays too, if you bend it/cable tie it on to it in the right way.
