Need a case recommendation from you guys. Am putting together a new Conroe build, which I'll list here now:-

Conroe E6300 or E6600 (undecided)
Gigabyte DS4 Mobo
2GB G.Skill HZ PC6400 Ram
Scythe Ninja Fan
Akasa Amber: 120mm + 80mm Case Fans
Creative Xi-Fi OEM
Some LEDs
Sapphire X1900XT-X
Pioneer DVD-Writer
Samsung 250GB SATA HDD x 2

Here's the case/psu option I was considering:-

Lian Li PC7+ Case + CD-Rom Bezel + Window - £89
Seasonic S12 600W Silent ATX2.0 PSU - £99

However, quite a few users have suggested the following, which has prompted me to make this post:-

Antec Sonata II Piano Black Quiet Case - 450W Smart Power PSU (CA-040-AN) - £77.49

There's a £100 difference between these two, so I'm wondering whether it's worth the difference. I do like the though of having an aluminium case (Lian-li) as having come from a Shuttle (SN25P), I'd quite like my PC to remain light(ish). But is it worth the price diff?

Cheers! :)

EDIT: The 600W PSU may seem like overkill, but I'm assuming it may future proof me when faster graphics cards/CPUs come out. Perhaps not though...? :p

Your system can run under a 500watt S12 version - but if you think you'll need the 600, then go for it.

As for the case, I'll let those who've owned them share the pros and cons.

Is there any foreseeable reason why I would need a 600W Seasonic? How close to those 500W do you think I'm at with the above setup? I don't think I'd ever go down the SLI/Xfire route, but I guess CPUs and newer graphics cards may have greater demands in the future.

Antec PSUs are good Ive owned a couple and never had any problems with them.

Ive never owned a Seasonic PSU but Ive only ever heard very good things said about them - personally I use FSP or Tagan.

Really just get the best you can afford, if you can get the PC7+ and a Seasonic I would, but certainly the Antec combo is not to be sniffed at.

Tricky decision - but I would probably go with the Lian-Li / Seasonic coupling, as you've said it comes down to cost and whether or not the money you will save can be better used elsewhere :)

The better combo is the PC7+ and Seasonic, the case is better and the PSU is the same for perfomance but a little quiter from Seasonice, hardly noticeable I would imagine.

If you can afford the extra the PC7+ is worth it, every penny infact. As for what you go with, whatever you prefer the look of, or which one suits your budget.

You will be happy with both, but the PC7+ as ever gets my vote, it competes and loses admittedly with most of the cases above £100, and beats some in build quality. :)

Never used the LED fans, that is Nix's case. :)

All Lian Li's look repulsive until you see them in person, any picture does them no justice as you can't see what the brushed aluminium really looks like.
