That's over £70 price difference, are you sure you want to compare these?

Personally i have the Lian Li PC7 and like it a lot as i like minimalistic looks on the outside and this thing is smooth all over. Cooling is very good with 120mm fan at the back and front and a blow hole at the top

The PC7 is deffinatly a lovely case and for the price it is you mayaswell save the money and spend it on a different part of your PC. :)

The V1000 is a gorgeous high-end case. The PC-7 is a good looking mid-level case. The PC-7 is a far better value but I wouldn't say it's greater than or equal to the V1000 by a long shot.

Yeh, I am biased, I too have the PC7. To be honest as far as I am concerned, if it's made by Lian Li it's almost deffinatly a decent case.

There are some issues that Yewen has said about the V1000, like if you have a modular PSU and more than 3 HDDs it isn't going to fit...I don't see how that works (or doesn't :P) but again I don't have experience with this so can't actually say much about it.

It does look a nice case with it's wheels and all, but personally I don't like the completely meshed front, but that's just me.

i like the PC7 for the price the quality is just amazing :), hard to compare the 2 because of the price gap. But if I had the money V1000 :)

You can fit hard drives in the top area, with an 8800 there is the possibility of loosing some space in a PC7+.

Literally the choice between these is how comfortable you are spending the extra money for a v1000+ over the PC7+, they both do the same job with more than enough quality.

Personally I would take the v1000+ as it has more wow factor about it, but if you could spend the extra money on say the model up processor then go for it. :)

Money to burn the v1000+ is the better case, but its over 2x the price of the PC7+ and not 2x better.

Your call, you will be happy with either case.

Thanks for the replys guys.... :)

I love my sn26p (AMD socket) shuttle case but i want to upgrade to a intel Core 2 CPU...
And i thought i may make a change back to a normal mid sized PC case...
Am also thinking of a new intel shuttle

I haven't kepth up with want new PC cases have come out in the last 12 months or so,as i mainly been interested in my xbox360 i brought back then..
and i remembered that the V1000 & PC-7 cases we some the best recommend cases back then..

'scuse the mess inside, but it's the best I could do...

V1000 costs a lot more, but you're getting one heck of a case. You can see that the PSU is quite tight to the compartment wall inside; that's where some modular PSU's get hung up. You can remove that wall, but thats where you lose the 3 hard drive spaces. I think most modular PSU's can be squeezed in though.

Would certainly fit an 8800 more easily anyway

Does the V1000+ still have the same PSU probs that the V1000 has?

I'm still umming and ahhing between the V1000+ and the PC-A10

Yes. Same sized compartments. In researching the case, I'm sure I've seen pictures of Enermax Galaxys in there, so it isn't a problem so long as you are happy unscrewing the interconnecting wall and losing 3 of the 6 hard drive bays.

WolfR1der. What's with the Akasa fan controller inside the case. Isn't that a faff when you want to change speeds? Anyway nice to see I'm not alone in using an Epox 9NPA :)

Now the V1000+ has no issues with larger psus, unlike the V1000 the drive bays unscrew and can be removed, rather than being riveted in.

The v1000+ has not had psu issues for a very long time, I remember the THG article on the v1000+ that said it could not fit many power supplies and was absolutely gobsmacked. That was 2005 and Lian Li had fixed the potential issues yet you can still read reviews where the v1000+ is said to have PSU issues, I smell someone rewording the THG article. ;)

You have more space to fit a PSU in a v1000+ than a Eclipse or any other case for that matter, if you remove all the hard drive capacity and use caddies instead.

No issue at all with the plus versions, just avoid a non plus.

Can you back that up.... You could get a stupidly sized psu in an Eclipse :p

Whats the longest you could get in there? (I realise just like with the Eclipse its far longer than any psu would be,.... but this is just for the sake of discussion!)

I can't get the side open of my v1000+ so just held a 30cm ruler up to the side of it.

You are looking at a PSU in length of well over 35cm, maybe even well over 40cm.

Just look at all the space at the bottom!
