Hi all,

I'm looking to build a new PC, which will include:

- ASUS P5E3 DELUXE mobo
- Q6600 CPU
- Tuniq Tower 120
- ATi 3870X2

Now, i was going to go for the CoolerMaster Cosmos 1000 case, but I've seen that it isn't too efficient at removing the heat. Then I looked at the Thermaltake VG4000SWA case, but that's HUGE. Then I saw peeps here suggesting the Antec P182.

HELP!

Basically, I want a cool, quiet case - size isn't THAT much of an issue. I currently have a Stacker, which has about 7 fans on, and it's LOUD. I'd just like a decent case that's as quiet as possible, and not too hot. It'll be mainly used for gaming etc., although I'm not really into overclocking.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Right, I still need some help - I keep going between the Cosmos and the P182!

Bad points of the P182:

- Smaller
- 9800 GX2 would need the top HD rack taken out
- Lower Hard drives would get hot

Bad points of the Cosmos:

- No fan controller can be installed
- Temps?

Can anyone advise a bit further on these? I'd quite like the fan controllers to be installed, but I've read this can't be done on the cosmos, as the door is fairly flush....

The lower hard drives in the P182 don't get hot if you have the fan in the lower compartment running. I have 2 in there and they run fine :).

OK, ta - but I read that some PSUs are larger than standard and needed the fan removing to fir in correctly. Is there any easy way to find out which fits OK? Or, even better, do you know of a good, quiet PSU that will allow me to use the lower fan as well?

I use the Corsair 520 (640 is the same size) PSU and it fits fine. I dont have the middle bottom fan in anyway though. Even if it doesn't fit, there is still a fan in front of the HDD's behind the door.

What, at the very bottom chamber? From the reviews, I couldn't see anything about a fan there - just on in the middle of the lower chamber, and one on the HDD rack in the top chamber...

Without trying to sound rude mate, every question you've asked can be naswered by looking at the P182 thread :) You can see where the fans are.

Soz - I'd been trawling through it, but couldn't see a mention of any fan in there, hence the question!

Cheers for the heads up though. :)
