Hi

I have been looking for a good cooling gaming cases to try and help with the hot weather we been having.

My main requirement is to have the best air flow possible As cost is secondary my budget is around 100 - 180+ could stretch even more if required.

Been looking between the popular Antec 1200 gaming case however the silverstone raven and fortress designs have caught my eye too.

I am now tempt to edge towards the Silverstone Raven RV03 but antec 1200 is cool too.

Which one do you think has better air flow??

If there any other recommendations , then please feel free to comment.

Cheers
Kyo

I was thinking that too. The design is superb and does make sense with the layout of the board. It also a bit cheaper too :)

Silverstone Raven RV03.
Coolermaster HAF-X.
Silverstone Fortress FT02.
NZXT Phantom.(needs some optional fans installed though for best cooling.)
Coolermaster ATCS840.
Xigmatek Elysium.

These are the ones i only would consider really in that budget range for air-cooling/features/noise level and they are large cases too for plenty of room.To be honest the Raven RV03 is a very good case and got great reviews it's at a brilliant price too so you can't go wrong with that really.

I do not like my Antec 902 much due to the noise it produces and the dust filters being a pain to clean compared to the above cases.

Like mentioned Antec 900/902/1200 have had their days now best getting one of the above.

Yeah have to agree Antecs have had thier day all the cases mentioned above will beat those Antecs listed for cooling.

Thanks for moving the thread to the case section. Apologies was being silly there.

I just seen you can get the Raven-02-E edition which is practically the same as FT-02 but less pricey. It also has a modded HD layout where it can hold up to 5 HD unlike the vanilla RV02 that only has 3. Dont think i can go with the Raven 02 because i use a Corsair H50 CPU cooler. :(

The RV03 seems better suited for the H50 as it gives additional options with the variable HD layout. The internal top HD cage could accommodate the cpu rad i suppose which could act as a shroud :)

I personally am very disappointed in the rv03 and wouldn't recommend it

Can i asked what you disliked about the RV03 ?

In your recommendation you got the Raven RV02, what do you think is better on the RV02 that the 3 lacks or disappoints?

well the rv03 has the mounts for fans at the front, which if you use you wreck the airflow.
the rv02 has three 180mm fans in the bottom allowing for some huge rads with a little modding.
the rv02 looks better, although the rv01 is my favourite case.
also the mount for the psu is in the front bottom, which I really don't like.
oh yeah and the rv02 in white is absolutely amazing (I love white cases)

sorry I didn't mean it in that way, I meant that I was waiting for ages to see how it would turn out and it ended up being a step back from the rv02

I think if i am going for the RV02, i would go for the rv-02e (not white) for my peference :).

the only nagging thing, reading around the net without any real modding is using the top 120mm fan as a Pull/push for my H50 so that it still exhausts air from the top of the case to keepthe thermodynamics of the case.

Is there anyone has actually used a RV02 with a H50. If so what temps do u get?

I still fancy getting the RV-03 though hmmmm decisions :(
