£50 on a case and PSU isn't going to get you anywhere with your spec. A PSU suitable for that spec will cost at least £50 :)

Sure you can't stretch your budget?

Antec Sonata II Piano Black Quiet Case - 450W Smart Power PSU £77.49

I feel that a better PSU might be needed just in case.

Antec Super LANBOY Aluminum Super Mini Tower Case - No PSU (CA-012-AN) £33.78

Tagan TG480-U01 480W ATX2.0 SLi Compliant Silent PSU at £59.34

I'm not sure I agree. I run the same setup but with a more power hungry pentium D off a 400 W supply.
A decent 400W should do it. I agree though, the Antec cases offer a decent quality power supply which should be enough. You may have to go a bit over your £50 but not too much.
Others more knowledgable than myself can probabaly tell you more.

Im looking at a

Antec Sonata II Piano Black Quiet Case - 450W Smart Power PSU (CA-040-AN)

but i would prefer to get a

Arctic Cooling T1 Silentium Midi Tower Case - 350W Seasonic Silent PSU (CA-000-AR)

Is there much difference between the two?

Thanks

Andy

I would be looking to buy a seperate PSU,just my opinion, any psu from antec, tagan, ocz, enermax,FSP or seasonic.

House it in a cheaper case if you have to,but don't skimp on the PSU,after all it is the most important thing in your PC ;)

Don't wan't all your new hardware going pop,do we :p

Think the 350w seasonic will be struggling ,if i had to chose one it would be the antec ;) Pretty sure it has dual 12v rails & it's a decent case

Thanks for the reply... a lot to think about then. I like the look of the arctic one, and its cheaper. You say a 350 Watt would struggle, the seasonic has got very good reviews im stuck on this one.. I would also need a PCI-e connector on psu, do both these psu's have them??

You won't need a pci-e connector on the psu - the x1800xt you're buying comes with a lead to connect to a normal molex power connector (i got one a few days ago).
I agree that the arctic cooling case looks better but the other one isn't that ugly & I really wouldn't be confidant trying to run that system on less than a decent 400W, although you never know.

I know they are very good psu's but the X1800XT is a power hunger beast,i would be going for the antec still mate ;)

Spend another £20-30 & get yourself a seperate PSU & a decent case , You know you want to :p

I got about £70 for a case and PSU, that PSU is £60 alone.

Anyone with more ideas?

Lower your graphics card or ram down and get the PSU.

PSU is the main cause of instability, errors and general annoyance in PCs. If a cheap one blows it will kill all your kit, and expensive one is MUCH less likely.

The PSU will need to be fairly good to power a 1800XT, your looking at the Antec Sonata II or above for your rig.

Anything lower than that and your asking for crashes and a dead PC in six months time.
