Which case?

Hey guys, I am back again(not sure if anyone know me)...Anyway, I am having a hard time choosing a case, it's the least important part for me really. I was about to go with Antec 900, but I don't really like it. I want one with a window, I would like to get the Akasa Eclipse 62(love the black interior) but it's kinda expensive, considering it is £93 already + £15 for the window. What other cases should I be thinking of?

I like this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-010-TT&groupid=701&catid=7&subcat=715

Or this:

Any advice?

Cheers

Ok, I guess OCers don't sell the case? Because I can't find it. What do you think of the Thermaltake.

Thanx for your quick reply.

Ok, well that case doesn't look good either. Looks like I am gonna miss the Window on thie side and go with the Antec 180. You can't add one for it, can you?

You can get the p182 with a windowed panel although it's over £110 as they're done to order.

The PC7 looks a lot, lot better in the flesh... they're very nice cases.

Ok, I just googled it and yes, it does look rather nice. Do you know what's the cooling is like? Considering I will have a 8800 inside.

It has 2x120mm fans with an optional 80mm on top, cable management is decent and there's very little to restrict airflow so it's pretty good.

I used to have one and it was fine, ran very cool (I was OK running an overclocked Athlon 64 passively).

The only bad thing I can think of are the stock fans if you get the solid black ones they are a little on the loud side, Yate Loons can be had for £4 each and are very good replacements.

another vote for the PC7, always poo poo'd lian li till i saw raikiri's in person, have been meaning to get one for the last couple of years, they really are excellent in the flesh

I've got a Thermaltake case (Tsunami Dream) and it's the worst case ever! So poorly made, very very flimsy, the whole thing shakes, rattles, and vibrates. After my experiences of this, I'm sticking to solid steel cases, non of that light-weight aluminium.

I'm really looking forward to getting my Antec P182 and destroying that Thermalcarp.

Some of the older cases initially are a little bland in pictures but they are much better in person.

Some of the new designs since they made the V series are just stunning, all they need to do now is match the value of a Antec 900 case with the cooling of a Stacker 830 while having all the useless rubber of the P182 to keep those people happy. :p

Give them another three years. :D

You can't compare a Thermaltake to a Lian Li, the build quality difference is huge.

iirc only the front of the tsunami dream is alu, the rest is steal, lian li is a good manufacturer of aluminium cases, the whole forum is nuts over them

i just want a likkle lian li a05b...spie promised stock yeaterday...but i see no stock :( :D

edit: hate the 900 (never owned one but it looks aweful/cheap), thats not value, that just poo :p

the sonata/sonata II is the only antec case i have liked both visually and on paper, although the cooling left a little to be desired

900 is a good case if not to our tastes, would never buy one myself but they are good to build in and offer worry free cooling, great for new builders or people after the cheapest case that can run anything and just concentrating on getting the insides done to a high quality.

A05 cases should not be too long, just keep checking the website or pop a call into sales and we may have some more info to give on the ETA. :)

no accounting for taste eh? :p *looks away from his Tt armor LCS and remembers his Tt soprano*

good, want to get back to air cooling, water really isn't all it's hyped up to be (even if you replace the Tt rubbish with more decent stuff)

not sure, mine is certainly aluminum all over, very thin, weak and feeble!

it's certainly light weight, but that is no interest to me, even if i did move it around all day!

when i got the thermaltake a few years ago, it was based on specs and nothing but glowing reviews from everywhere :-o i was also swayed with the 120mm fans front/back, which seemed to be new.

edit: just checked thermaltakes websites, it says "0.8 mm All aluminum made", 0.8mm, that's like aluminum foil, lol

well, thermaltake are known for cutting corners ( and they can be bloody sharp :p)

I recently built a system in the PC7 and love it.:D

About looking better in the flesh, that is so true, the pictures on most sites don’t do it justice.
