which cherry switch for FPS gaming

which one? ive never used a mechanical keyboard and thinking about getting a ducky shine 2 or 3 will mainly be used for fps gaming and typing, obviously :p
 
I have just gone from a Microsoft cheap thing to a Corsair K70 with Red Switches.

So far I love it, its very responsive and the textured WASD (and 123456 keys) are a nice feature.
 
Blacks are the best FPS switch but many people choose reds as they work better over a range of applications - unless you want to keep switching keyboards for different uses you will lose on a very slight benefit going to reds over blacks in regard to FPS performance but gain a big increase in useability for other games and typing.

Also as above some people also prefer the reds due to being a bit softer in use but thats generally at a slight trade off on actuation precision (depending a little person to person).

EDIT to put some kind of numbers to it - purely for illustration purposes:

Blacks: FPS gaming 100%, other gaming 50%, typing 40%
Reds: FPS gaming 95%, other gaming 70%, typing 60%

Unfortunatly I've not really spent enough time with browns to be able to call it on browns v red. I use blacks myself as I spent 99% of my gaming time either in FPS games or playing eve online where keyboard wise it doesn't really matter what you use.
