What is better (for overclocking and gaming)

My Pentium D 950 has got to me and it sure does suck :rolleyes:

AMD Athlon 64 4400+ Socket 939

OR

AMD Athlon 64 3800+ Socket AM2

What'll it be guys? :D
 
Well, where the am2 rig is obviously slower, its more upgradable...939 is nearing the end.
But if your getting a conroe rig then are you really bothered about upgrading your athlon rig in the future?

the 3800 is better for overclocking and depending on your cooling and ram and mobo it should reach at least 2.4 an max at 2.8 if your real lucky, on the other hand the 4400 is a much better chip it has double the cache and much faster at stock

Depends if its the x2 or not :)

If not the 3800+ is stock @ 2.4 :p

So, we're talking about x2 then, and then in that case i'd think the 905 might be quicker then the 3800.
 
Actually good point, it could be the single core one I just assumed that being Conroe he would be looking at the X2s as well.
