965p or 650sli because they are generally cheaper I would say. Obviously whether you have any intention of using dual graphics cards will make a difference (965 - no dual graphics, 975 - crossfire for ATI cards, 650sli - Sli for NVidia cards).
It really depends what other features you want - how many sata hard drives, how many ide drives, do you need raid, would built in wireless be useful to you , do you want nice colours etc.
If you specifiy more of this kind of info, people may be able to recommend specific motherboards to you.
Thanks for the advice, i wanted a board with 3 pci slots 1 pci E and 6 usb connections , i will have 2 hard drives sata ,thats a start anyway ..

This one :
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-063-GI
fits the bill, is reasonably priced & has a good reputation. It also happens to be good for overclocking should you ever change your mind. Finally, it sports some really disgusting playschool colours which may be a good thing or not.
As does this one :
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-073-MS
but you'll be able to find out much less about it on here because it's not really an overclocking board.
There's currently only this :
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-221-AS
for 650sli, though it only has 2 pci slots, so if that's a definate, then I would discount it.
Thanks thats most helpful ,also does the Asus P5B Deluxe have 3 pci slots sems to look like it ? hear good things about that too. ;)

It does but if you have a graphics card which takes up 2 slots, then you will lose (cover up) one, which will not be the case with first 2 boards I linked. If you have a single slot graphics card, it won't be a problem.
Thing is, if you aren't overclocking, then the high OC abilities of the board may be a bit wasted, as will the fancy copper heatpipes. Still, there's no doubt it's a stable, well liked board, so if you like it & think it's worth the extra cash, why not ?
Thanks for the great bit of info ,the graphics card i have is the BFG 3DFuzion GeForce 7600 GT 256MB GDDR3 TV-Out/DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail would this be a problem ?

Asus P5N-E SLi nForce 650

If it was out when I got my 680, I would have got it instead.
Right thats interesting ,so you would have gone for a cheaper board ? i,m one of those who believe that £180 is way to much for a board ,i know you get everything and the kitchen sink ! but do we really need it ? as long as it boots up and is reliable .

But the 650i only has two pci slots & the OP stated he wants 3. If it's something he isn't prepared to compromise on, then he shouldn't choose the 650i.
Well i,m flexable ,all i want is my sound card and a internal modem ADSL mind you could change that and get either a usb modem or a Router .
