Sorry for the amateur hour question but I don't have much time for research just now.

What's the best (or what should be on my shortlist) Chromebook for ~£400 these days?

I'm looking for touch screen, ability to run Android apps, a flip screen so it can be used as a tablet, SD card reader, 12-14" 1080p screen... how important is 8GB vs 4GB?

Thanks.

Are folk not using Chromebooks?

They are.... people don't post here as much so you have to be patient with replies. I have a Chromebook. 4GB model but it's just a basic one for browsing the web. I can't do much on it apart from web browser activities but if you want something with more juice do not go Chromebook. If you do go chromebook try to get something which has 8gb of ram.

Went for the HP x360 i3, 8Gb in the end.

It already comes with windows 10, that's cool. Some chromebooks you can change the bios on them to be able to boot windows 10 perfectly so you can choose to have either windows or chromeos or linux installed.

The only problem with that laptop is that it comes with a HDD non SSD, which is mechanical. I would investigate to see if you can swap the drive out for an SSD, which would give it a speed boost.

My brother was recently looking at one but by time you get one with decent specs you may aswell get a Windows machine.

Ended up getting a Huawei mate book d, 15.6" , Ryzen 5, 256gb SSD (upgradeable), 8gm ram
Was £550

You can also get a honor magic book 14" for the same price.
