NB: I WASN'T SURE WHETHER I NEEDED TO POST THIS IN MONITORS GFX CARD OR GENERAL HARDWARE ETC...

I have an LCD Acer monitor with which I have recently been experiencing major problem
It started a few weeks ago I was listening to some music on spotify and noticed there were green dots inside the spotify display, and then also inside my utorrent client window display., after fidgeting around with it for a minute I then disconnected the DVI-D (M/M) cable from both the monitor and my desktop and reconnected the cables,
The problem seemed to have been resolved as the foreign dots I(effergies?) had now gone
a few days later however while I was playing Far Cry 4 the monitor began flicking on/off seemingly at random though the green dots were gone, it appeared to be getting progressively worse and at this point I decided to test it on somebody elses computer. He notified me that the monitor worked perfectly on his screen and as far as I know he used my power supply although not my ~DVI-D cable as he has VGA ports on his machine
When I got the monitor back and tried it out with a new cable (had to eliminate that potential problem) I noticed that the adaptor was generating no heat whatsoever. and the monitor was not coming on at all although the blue LCD is blinking on and off, .it was at this point I wasn't sure what the problem was as i'd been thinking more and more the problem is my GFX card as i'd had read on forums, but this put a spanner in that theory, I asked my friend which power supply he used in case he already had a compatible power supply for his monitor, as far as I know he used my power supply, what I don't know is whether the PSU was generating heat when he tested it

So the question remains what do I replace the Monitor the power supply or the GFX card or even is there another possibllity because I am now completey puzzled

PSU APD (Asian Power Devices) DA-42H24 (External)
Monitor Acer S220HQL
PC CUSTOM
GFX NVidia GeForce GTX580

I need any help I can get with this

Thx

Post your full PC specs bud. :)

The "PSU" you posted seems to be a power brick for a logitech racing sim wheel, not your internal power supply. :p

You should be able to find your PC specs on your invoice from when you bought it, perhaps, if you're not sure. :)
