Hi.
I have chosen all the parts I need for my first water cooling project, with the exception of compression fittings (which I really want to use, over barbs).
My worry is that, since I don't have the parts yet, I don't know exactly how it's all going to lay out, since I don't know where the inlets and outlets are on the equiment. Is there a rough way of buying angled compression fittings, like a best guestimate? So, I need 14 compression fittings, so should I just go for say 4 straights, 4 rotaries, 4 90 degrees, and a couple of 45 degree angles? Is it better/safer to buy mostly rotaries? What did you do when you built your first water cooled stuff, when you didn't have the stuff in front of you to work it all out. Or did you buy the gear first and then chosen the fittings afterwards? BTW, I am thiking of buying the bitspower compressions.
Final question - I am going to need 12 fans to put on rig and on rads, and the gentle typhoons seem the best for the rads I am getting (black ice 420s). But they are expensive. Obviously, you get what you pay for, but I was wondering if there are other alternatives that are a respectable replacement for the GTs but are cheaper.
The thing is, that without fans and compression fittings the cost of the w/c equipment will be around 650 pounds. But with them, it'll be 900 pounds. That's 250 pounds more for fans and fittings, which seems a lot! I know the outlay will only be once, but even so, that's a lot of money.
Thanks for any advice/stories about what you did the first time around.
