Hi!

I need to send some files from my PC to a colleague's Mac (almost certainly a fairly recent version of OS X).

Which (lossless) file compressor should I use on my PC to ensure that the file is really easy to open on my colleague's Mac? Should I use WinRAR or WinZIP or something else?

Any help would be great - I haven't a clue which compression schemes are easy to uncompress on a Mac.

Many thanks,
Jack

no problem, forgot to add that zip is natively built into mac osx, for rar you would probably need a third party app such as unrarx (free)

Stuffit?

I use that it is good - I think there is a free version (that only decompresses).

Stuffit is only £20ish and is worth it.

On the Mac, select the files, fight click and Create Archive... universal zip file.

On the PC, winzip (though zip is native on XP), winrar (and unrarx on the Mac),
