Which console out of the PS3 and Xbox 360 is best for single player gaming? I cant connect it up to the internet (for various reasons, dont ask) so looking for the one that will have more single player games and also good offline multiplayer, i have had both consoles before, but i sold my ps3 due to no games out (it was soon after release), and also my xbox 360 because i got a new PC, but PC gaming isnt as good as it used to be, but i can still use my PC for multiplayer gaming.

360 probably because of the bigger backlog of games which are dirt cheap to buy especially preowned.

if you wanted to play online most ppl would say 360's because of their better online set up, but offline i would have to say ps3 because if you have/will have a hd set up in the next few years then blu rays are the future

You can only really answer this one yourself by looking at the games catalogues. 360s is bigger as its had a longer life. Bluray is a good plus for a PS3 as mentioned.

look at the exclusives for each and then decide on that. also what types of games do you wish to play?

Spot on - I went for the PS3 for MGS4 and LBP, but at the same time the 360 has Fable 2...they're all games that could make be buy a console! Which you want is up to you :D

PS2 because there are only a handful of games that are actually designed from the ground up for online play.

Out of the single player game for this gens.. I'd say the PS3. I've owned a 360 btw and played all the best games for it, no bias opinions here.

The best single player PS3 games:
Bioshock
Metal Gear Solid 4
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
Grand Theft Auto IV
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Valkyria Chronicles

Other good single player PS3 games:
Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction
Assassin's Creed
Oblivion
Fallout 3
Ninja Gaiden Sigma
Mirrors Edge
Killzone 2
Resistance 1 & 2

i play a lot more single player than i do multi tbh, and i prefer my 360. there are a lot of good games on either but you will fin most of the decent games are on either system anyway. a fair few of those already mentioned are on both except the playform exclusives, obviously. if you are going to choose one console over another than it really has to come down to what has the better exclusives, otherwise 9 times out of ten any game thats on both ends up better on the 360 in some way - even if its only a minor difference.

tbh there's no real winner, but i do find more games to my liking on my 360. and there's a LOT of cheap second hand games to be had as well. There are other little things like the controllers also, not that i have a problem with either but i do still prefer the 360 controller.

Exactly :) I'm much more of a single player gamer and only occasionally play multiplayer games, and I'm very happy with my 360. However that's down to the games available for it being the type of games I love.

Crackdown
Dead Rising
Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts
Blue Dragon
Lost Odyssey
Mass Effect
Bully: Scholarship Edition
Fable 2
The Last Remnant
Ninja Gaiden 2
GTA IV: Lost & Damned
Condemned
Halo 3
Gears of War 1&2
Viva Pinata

360 single player exclusives I've really enjoyed though sp rpgs are my genre of choice. As everyones said look at the exclusives you want to play and choose whichever console wins. Either way it's all good.

If you have a new PC then I would deffo say PS3. You can get all the decent 360 games on the PC so there aint much point especially considering you could use the 360 pad aswell if you wanted to & the trey exclusives are better imo.
