Which console for 2011??

Hey all

I don't want this to turn into a fanboy argument, just intrigued to hear people's opinions. Which console do you think will dominate in 2011??

The battle is definatly between the PS3/Xbox.

I have both and use the PS3 far more. Im going to reserve judgment and see what happens.

It will go that way regardless.

I'm not sure which will end up on top at the end of 2011, it will probably depend on the amount of, and the quality of each consoles exclusive games. Though I think the first half of the year may see the PS3 slightly on top, what with Killzone 3 and Uncharted 3 coming out.

PS3 exclusives seem better this year - killzone 3,uncharted 3,little big planet 2,resistance 3. What has the 360 got this year? Gears 3? I think that's about it!

Both Xbox 360 and PS3 will have games (both retail and Arcade) that make them worth owning. The PS3 probably edges it though.

Buy both.

Isn't that now multi plat? What with Mass Effect 2 just about to be launched for PS3, think bioware said 3 would be on PS3 at the same time as 360. Could be wrong..

Anyhow, PS3 is looking to have a rather strong lineup for the first half of the year. Be interested to see where the 360 and its new kinect goes, what with PS3 Killzone 3 using PS move.

Uncharted 3 is one to watch out for, if I was buying a new games console rigth now, be hard to 'not' be tempted by the PS3 bundles at the moment..

i've got a ps3 at present, definately has a really strong AAA lineup this year. Very tempted to get a 360 though and have both for some reason

I'm going the other way. The console wars have become so boring now. I want a nice PC gaming rig again.

The 360 I've not used in aeons and I'm only keeping PS3 for The Last Guardian.

3DS will dominate the hand held market when it's released but as for the home consoles there wont be any domination.

I like the looks of the PS3 exclusives this year but I still don't think those will be enough for it to dominate.

Sales in US and UK? 360
WW sales? Probably a draw.

Overall winners? Gamers like me with both!

If the 3DS is priced right (not £300) then it will absolutely dominate all other console sales.

Zelda? Street Fighter? Resident evil?

I think Nintendo have had enough of us fanboys demanding they pick up their act

I think I made a rough calculation based on the expected Yen price and came up with around £250, which is quite a bit. Hopefully I'll be wrong and it'll be less...

PS3 has the best game line up for 2011 but I expect the 3DS to sell the most. Probably the 360 and PS3 will be equal worldwide due to Kinect sales continuing to bolster the 360. Expect the Wii to decline still further this year.

It will be particularly interesting if there are more price-drops for the PS3 and 360 and you'd expect some in the second half of the year.

I don't think nintendo will dominate any more as people are more wary of gimmick consoles like the Wii that only see the light of day on special occasions and the handheld market as changed now mostly thanks to Apple and it's iOS devices, You can buy very acceptable games now on iPods, iPhones and Smartphones for 59p so whats the point in spending £20+ on games. I honestly think nintendo are in for a big surprise if they think there going to continue to rule console gaming. The game as changed!!!

PS3 will own this year on many levels

Trouble is, you're probably not far off. Bit rich for me, but I wouldn't bet against them selling out even at that price.
