Which console to get?

Im looking to go a bit retro and Im stuck on what to get a NES or SNES?
Im swaying more towards my first ever console the NES but the SNES also has some great games.

What do you people think?
 
Hmmm! SNES and super punchout seems to be appealing! just slightly off topic looking at your sig is Jericho any good ive just bought it and just waiting for it to arrive!
 
I think its going to have to be a snes! there was loads of games that i spent hours on it.
And ohhh yeah i forgot about the star wars games, sometimes the snes struggled with the amount of enemies on screen at one time ha ha ha!
 
Am i right in thinking that the SNES and the NES use the same power supply and connection for the tv cable? (the one that has yellow, white and red connector on the end)
 
Ive gone behind a lot of peoples back and got a NES then i will get a SNES when i get paid at the end of the month.

The reason i bought it was it looked in fantastic condition and I managed to get it for 31 notes inc p+p.

Anyways I got....

You are bidding on a NES console, with Megaman 2, Kung Fu & Urban Champion!

Also included is the AC power adapter, TV lead, two controllers and a spare brand new connector.

The console has been cleaned inside, the connectors have also been cleaned so it works like new. The 3 game connectors have also been cleaned, so everything works perfectly.

Now ive got a few games to buy i.e. all the mario's, maniac mansion, double dragon 1 and 2, and Castlevania!

Well im a bit worried about the NES ive just bought because he said he's cleaned inisde the console so I dont know if thats voided the warrenty?

And ill defo be getting a SNES ive already got my eye on one that finishes in the next couple of days with no games! then i can build the collection i want!

wouldn't worry about it to much, those things are bomb proof, so it won't have done it any harm if he has opened it.

ha ha ha i was being sarcastic a bit with all the 360 comments on the forums ;)

I used to have megaman 2 which is a pretty good game along with kung fu, but ive never seen the other one before ha ha!
 
Just as a quick update ive just got this lot for £26! Im well chuffed.

This is a superb Snes console with Gameboy game converter and 6 great games.The games are Lion King,Rival Turf,RType,Micky Mania (boxed) Mystic Quest and Road Riot 4WD.The console comes with all leads,official Snes controller and in good working order.This is a great into into the world of retro gaming.Good Luck.

Cant wait to have a bash on R-Type! :D

Nice purchases matey. The SNES is built like a tank and will last you for years. Mine has survived being dropped down stair cases, rain water (while in the loft) and a beer fight (not instigated by me, I took away SNES privileges after that).

You need some good games for it though, pick up Star Wing, Donkey Kong Country, Street Fighter II (someone else will be along to tell you the right version), Super Mario World and Sensible Soccer.

Yeah i think Super Street Figher, Pop and Twinbee, Super Aleste, Punch Out, Earthworm Jim, Castlevania and Turtles in Time are all going to be purchased when I get some extra cash!

My NES and SNES will get more gametime than my PS3 :eek:
