Which Console?

2 days ago i picked up a premium on the high st for 210 with Halo 3 + Lost Odyssey ...was the new HDMI Falcon 360 also.

games could be sold for ~35quid so all in all not a bad deal, you can find slightly cheaper deals online but i prefer the high st ...it's easier to return if it breaks etc etc

A) Blu-Ray on a 20" monitor? Not really much point there and it probably isn't a HDCP monitor.

B) Wired > Wireless, it saves hassle sure but I personally have my PS3 running with a wire. (I do have wireless but take wired when possible)

So yeah, they aren't important.

I don't disagree, but the fact he's hooking it up to a monitor first indicates he already has a PC. If he's anything like me and has a reasonably good PC and so the money has already been spent, in order to have access to the largest catalogue of games a PS3 might be the best option for him.

I'm not telling him which to get, just pointing out that a much larger portion of exclusives for the 360 end up on the PC eventually as that fact had a large influence in my decision and so it may do for him too.

A very good point I've never actually thought of. Mainly because my computer is crapper than a crapper full of crap. But for people out there with recent-ish upgrades, you have a really valid point

Look at the games you like/like the look of and just decide on that. Unless you want to watch blu-rays which makes the ps3 the obvious choice.

Exactly why i still dont have a 360 the only games that ever intrested me on the 360 was Mass Effect Bioshock and Fable 2, two of these are out/ soon to be out on the PC, fable 2 is yet unconfirmed but im 99% sure it will.

It's also rumored that Mass Effect will actually be better on PC too I believe

It's not rumoured - it's a fact. They said the UI is improved so are graphics/loading times/controls you name it. It's cheaper and includes "DLC" (shudder) which 360 owners had to pay for.

just got ps3 and plugged in about 2 hrs ago and set up media streaming well pleased with it, fairly quiet and media was a breeze to set up

IMO, Uncharted is the most consistently stunning, Lair looks stunning often but the frame rate issues mar it and the game play is average at best.

Metal Gear Online was smooth as hell, so that bodes well for MGS4 seeing as they run on the same engine.
