Which Cooler? 1155, 3570k

Seem they are talking 2 stories. ;)

Default H60 / H80 / H100 “Buzzing” or “Grinding
Corsair is aware that some number customers are experiencing a “grinding” or “buzzing” noise when using some of our Hydro Series coolers (specifically H60, H80, and H100). This does not affect every unit and has been very difficult to track down. After extensive lab testing, we’ve been able to re-create the issue on a small number of units in certain situations. We are working on a root cause analysis and will have a solution shortly.

In the meantime, rest assured we are aware of the issue and will post a solution here. Corsair is dedicated to ensuring the highest possible customer satisfaction, and we appreciate your patience with this problem. As mentioned, now that we have recreated the issue in a lab environment, we can work on a fix and provide it to you once it’s been verified ready for production.

I can't speak for any of the horror stories people seem to be mentioning but I recently switched to an h2flo from a noctua nh-u14p and after increasing my overclock from 3.6 to 3.8 the temps are about 1-2 degrees higher than they were with the lower overclock on air. A decent increase in cooling capacity for the money (the h2flo was cheaper than what I spent on the noctua when I bought it).

Well worth considering if you're not desperate to get every last mhz out of your chip, and quieter too if you pick the right fans.

Edit: Only H100 competes with top air coolers. The rest don't cool near as well.
only while being very loud with stocks fans screaming, or buying better fans, which is crazy as its so expensive already
The H80 is better than air coolers too.
Proof of this versus any of the top air coolers please.
ie. K2, Phanteks PH-TC14CS, Nh-D14, Silver Arrow, etc...

LOL, they dont scream man, they just get a bit louder during heavy stress testing (h100 fans), thats all, and even at that they aint that loud unless you have ultra sensitive hearing or you need an ultra quiet setup, and again I says this, "who runs thier system full stress 24/7 anyway ?", no one.

Maybe your fans are just knackered or summit mate as mines certainly dont scream even at full throttle, louder yes but not a big deal as I know they will get slower and quieter when stressing is finished, and I dont mean playing a game, I mean a heavy duty burn in test ;)

i dont have a H-100, but have looked at many reviews of them.

my point was, that a top end air cooler gives the same results, while being quieter and cheaper. but then there is case/ram clearance issues with big air coolers. its just down to personal preference

+1 Its a great little cooler and a smaller rad than on the H100 so it opens up more options on the case front, also gives you the quiet vs cooler option when you pick your fans.

I dont hear mine over the GPU fan

The Noctua has arrived, safe sound and complete :)

Now I didnt order any thermal compound :p

I have 2 tubs of AS5 here one maybe 3 years old and the other I'm guessing about 6 lol
Theres alsoa tube of Noctua NT-H1 in the box, which is best?

Seems to be a lot of people reading horror stories on google searches and then putting 2+2 together and getting 6837983475 ! lol

The H100 is great. It beats air coolers and is a nice fit between them and a full on WC setup. The noise, as you said, is only an issue during an IBT run, even then it's not stupid loud, it's just noticeable, but for gaming and general use, it's no louder than normal case fans, in fact, quieter than my Corsair A50 was. I also think it's looks nice too in my rig, as opposed to the big metal block that was there before :P

Show me WHERE the h100 beats a top air cooler? I bet you won't be able to since top air out preforms closed loop cooling.

Throw the H100 in with to top air coolers and see which falls out first.
H100
Why?
Because water pump rattled and/or growled at the others :D

Seriously, they are all so close in cooling ability it make absolutely no sense arguing about it.

You like H100, fine.

I like air, fine.

And air coolers are virtually trouble free. Set it and forget it!:D
