For a Q6600, it will probably get OC'd a little.

Sticking to air.

Noise is an important factor.

Was looking at a Tuniq Tower, but those beasts can apprently get quite loud.

Case will be an Antec P182, which should help with the noise a bit :)

Will look at my sig....good choice :D

You bumped my a thread of mine from just a few days back, which i had totally forgotten about . . . dont i feel a fool for asking again! :o

How loud do you find the tuniq tower though? Noise level is an important consideration.

The towers are considered the best for the Quads.

So either a Tuniq, Thermalright Ultra, or Scythe Ninja would be good choices.

My Ninja is doing pretty good. Got my Quad at 3.5Ghz @ 1.4v

If you do decide on the Artic cooler 7, beware that it doesnt fit an IP35-e.

the tuniq comes with its own fan controller so you can use that, doesnt need to be on full power if the system is setup right.

To be honest Will I have mine set at full and I hardly notice it, in comparison to my case fans which are on full, I like to keep temps down as oppose to quiet !! ;)

Im wanting to keep the temps down too, just do a lot of recording work though, so want to minimise background noise :)

Thinking of leaning over towards the "Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme CPU Cooler" That way I can at least make sure its a quiet fan i stick on it :)

Which fan would you guys choose?

Xilence Red Wing

or

Noctua NF-P12/NF-S12 8000/NF-S12 1200

The Red Wing apparently pushes more air than the NF-P12, while only being 1.4dB louder, the other Noctua fans have less push, but are quieter.

Which would be best for a CPU fan? And case fans? (Antec P182).

Red wing is also less than half the price of the Noctua, but that makes me skeptical of the given stats.
