Last bit of my newish build.

Asrock Z68 Extreme4 Gen3 Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard
Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail
Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C8 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMZ8GX3M2A1600C8)

All in a Silverstone TJ-09 http://www.silverstonetek.com/product.php?pid=94&area=usa, which according to Silverstone has a "Limitation of CPU cooler 169mm" which I am assuming is how much room I have?

Someone recommended this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-078-TR&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=1395 but as its out of stock till the 9th and I'm impatient, are there any equally good alternatives?

The alternative is the Noctua NH-D14 but that's a whole £20 more than the Thermalright. Otherwise you can get a Thermalright Venomous X, the disadvantage being it doesn't support 140mm fans.

Not convinced these 140mm CPU coolers will fit actually, as they are saying 170mm height. How does the 120mm Noctua compare?

Will just be using the settings in Bios to get to either 4.4 or 4.6 I guess. More interested in getting something quiet!

They'll fit fine. Most of these heatsinks are 160mm in height and perhaps a few mm more depending on high high you place the fan. 140mm fans are the best when it comes to performance and low noise.

Hmm, so wait two weeks on the thermalright silver arrow, pay a bit extra for the Noctua or go with the Venomous X. Who comes up with these silly names by the way?

Other thing is, will I have any issues with the cooler fitting over the ram? They look huge.

Thermalright Venomous X does support 140mm fans as bought one today with 140mm deepcool fans the thermal right ty=140,s where out of stock everywhere

Totally missed your memory there. Are those the low profile Vengeance or the tall ones? If they are the tall ones then the front fan of the Silver Arrow and the Noctua NH-D14 will coincide with them. The solution is to move the front fan to the back with the SA or with the Noctua, you can raise the fan. Although in the latter's case, I'm not sure how high this will have to be.

Did they change the wire clips?

See the straight bit of the wire clip. The 140mm fans would stick out to the side meaning the wire clip wouldn't be able to rest on the fan, unless they use different fan clips of course.

They seem relatively tall spikey things - The Ram that is.

Havent bought anything yet so I could change them, would just need to do some more research.
