Which cooler?

The Arctic Cooling Freezer 13 is great but it is a short fat unit so would be annoying with all the RAM slots populated. The Arctic Cooling i30 would be better suited to the Original Poster's build.

I would also look at the Thermalright True Spirit, I recommended it to a family member and he loves it. Very quiet and great performance but need to make sure it fits in the case as it is quite tall.

Those Noctuas will perform relatively poorly compared to the competition at that price. Get some lower profile memory, like the Avexir Core series, and get a dual tower cooler (K2 - The cheapest and still amongst the best, Silver Arrow, Phanteks, NH-D14). If you want a smaller cooler, the TRUE Spirit 140 is great.

With that case having only a single front fan, airflow will be somewhat limited so a dual tower cooler will be far more ideal for overclocking.

What Helios said. No reason to have RAM that tall.

If you can remove HDD cage and use the 3x 5.25" bays as a second intake.
Prices range from £14.00 to £30.00
Xigmatek 4in3 HDD Cage - Black £13.99

Silverstone HDD Expansion Kit - Black (SST-CFP52B) £14.99

Xigmatek 3in3 Hot-Swap HDD Cage - Black £29.99

Remove unused PCI slot covers from back of case for additional exhaust. With two front intakes that should give you decent airflow.

Thanks for all of your advice, much to read up on. I've got a Noctua in my present rig, soon to be my partners, and the ones I suggested had fairly good write ups. Certainly I've found the one I've got to be pretty good and quiet. I'll take any suggestions about the ram though as I thought it was rather tall...

You need to watch with some of the Lian Li ones. I bought this one here.

Fits fine in my A70F, but no joy in the shinobi xl. However i came up with another solution. Had a set of theese.

Fitted quite nicely in the xl, though i did have to tie the fan into place with elastic. It would be possible though to make something a bit more elegant using foam block to encase the fan.

Thanks zenf, the reviews I've read agree with that. I can't think why some are suggesting additional case fans when that wasn't really my question. Perhaps I didn't make it clear enough that I was referring to CPU coolers...

Because a case needs to move more air than your components do. If it does not components re-circulate the low supply of air and the case heats up. Every degree hotter the air in case is is a degree hotter the components are. ;)

Example
120mm intake & exhaust fans with 1x120mm on CPU cooler is equal case airflow to component.

Adding GPU with 2x 90mm fans means another 120-140mm intake & exhaust is needed for case to flow as much or more air than components.

You are getting a Rampage IV Formula and high performance RAM which suggests you want to overclock. The coolers you are looking at are fairly mediocre, even the Noctua, considering the ones you looked at come with either 92mm fans or 120mm fans.

As such, we recommended solutions that would be more suitable to your requirements, given that your case has a single intake and exhaust fan. Either get a large dual tower cooler, the K2 being one of the best and also cheapest, or if you want something a bit smaller, get a Thermalright TRUE Spirit 140 whose 140mm fans is one if not the best around. That cooler will perform better and be quieter than the Noctua you've been looking at.

And to further improve cooling, we're suggesting that there are alternative ways to do so. We are not forcing you to get case fans because simply, you can't, hence why we are showing you how you can expand should you want even better cooling. But from what I can gather, you only want people to agree with your original choice.

It doesn't look like large dual tower coolers will be compatible with his RAM though, the Noctua NH-D14 won't be anyway which I imagine is similar in size to the K2, but low profile RAM is also an option. Afaik though, the NH-U12S is the best bet if space is limited and from the reviews I've seen, is very competitive indeed.

He hasn't got the RAM yet which is why we recommended low profile ones instead.

No need for high finned ram, its a gimmick. Ram runs pretty cool. Theese pipes/fins etc are for aesthetic reasons only, and maybe to up prices a bit. Take Samsung green ram, bare sticks and can take a lot of voltage yet still run fine.
