currently have a 3770k @ 4.3 under an msi dragon (H55 clone)

would another cooler help with the 75+ degree load temps?

maybe a new AIO with double thick rad? or a better air cooler? no space sadly for a H100 or similar in my case (lian li A10) unless someone is willing to cut the case top for me!

High flow fans in push-pull would probably help. The problem with ivy bridge is usually the crappy thermal paste Intel use.

75c seems a little warm at such a modest clock. What voltage are you using?

Chances are that yes, there is a better cooler, but is the expenditure worth it? The TIM inside the chip may be partially to blame.

was at 84 before it was delidded and had the TIM replaced

btw this is under full constant load (video converting) 100% use

75c isnt too bad tbh, particularly as encoding places a good bit of strain on the cpu. What paste did you use on the die after delidding, best results come from using liquid metal.

its Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut TIM - and was delidded by a certain maddutchdude above ;)

was just thinking about changing the AIO to something with a thicker rad - or would modding the case for a H100 be a better idea?

Oh my. Yes it was! I knew I knew your name from somewhere. My sincere apologies. :D

It all depends if you think it's worth it. Those CPUs are happy to run at 80 or 90. Although I know the cooler the better, temps aren't too much of an issue just yet.

75 is fine. Have fun with your system.

The paste is so inefficient. You really want a new cooler to work consider delid but that invalidates all warranty.
