Which Corsair PSU?

Want a PSU for my other machine (Eventual spec will be 8800GT/C2D/etc nothing too taxing) and am confused between the HX, TX and VX series Corsair PSU's.

Whats the difference? Got an HX520 in my main machine, seems fine.

Any better recommendations for 70 quid or less?

HX ones are modular, the rest aren't. Beyond that I don't really know, the HX ones are the best as far as I know, if you look they are more expensive than the others.

HX are modular, and the TX is non modular. I don't know what is special or not so special about the VX series.

In reguards to which PSU, the Corsair 450VX would be fine for the mentioned system. The rest would be fine, just overkill :)

**Edit - Just remembered, HX are oem Seasonics, where as the TX and I assume VX are made by CWT the same people who make Thermaltakes etc.

Not sure I'd be going for a Corsair PSU anymore, seems there's quite a few going of late.

Enermax would probably be most people's recommendation, if they're not recommending Corsair anyway.

TBH, BeQuiet are probably becoming favourites, solid and quiet :)

Enermax have a UK RMA address.

Indeed, now read post #35 on that very topic.

Please also mark the RMA number clearly on your package, and ship your RMA to the following address:

Attn: RMA Department
Corsair Memory BV
Attn: Returns Department
Tunerstraat 3, 1322CB
Almere, The Netherlands

cheeky gits cheapest I can find is around £25 grrrr I'll send it off but i'll never buy a corsair power supply ever again unless they change their policy and get a uk shipping address it's just too expensive to send a parcel in europe from the uk.I'll stick to brands that have a uk depot like antec.

Not that simple either. The HX1000 is a CWT and the TX650 is a Seasonic unit.

I would recomend a Zalman HP Heatpipe Cooled Modular PSU, just got one myself and its by far the best PSU i ever owned. The pricing is also very good, for a modular and silent PSU.

I have heard nothing but good about Corsair, but they seemed a little pricey for me when i ordered, which is why i picked the zalman.

That's a small % TBH given that the majority seem to own them.

Most reliable brand of PSU considering we sell thousands of the things.

The return rate on the most popular 650w TX unit is just a smidge over 1%! Best selling and most reliable power supply by a mile, used in all of our full systems due to the stupidly low failure rate.

I ran an 8800GS SLI rig on a VX450 and it ran great, changed to an 8800GTX and it was still great. Only changed to a TX750 when i got a 2ns GTX
