I'm putting my current CoolerMaster M620 (620W) PSU in my girlfriends new rig and am looking at buying a new Corsair PSU for myself.

Now, I've heard the HX650 is made by Seasonic and the HX750 by CWT(?). I'm wondering if it makes any difference and what about the HX850, is that much better?

- I'm NOT going to SLI/Crossfire, so single GPU
- 2x WD Raptors, 2x Normal 7200rpm SATAII
- Overclocked CPU
- Corsair H50
- 5x 120MM Fan
- No DVD drive

I was looking at getting the HX650 but money is not really a problem and I read it's good not stressing out the PSU, so getting a higher wattage would be better, that right?

as you have said this one HX650 is made by Seasonic will run your system fine the only benefit to an higher wattage if you are going to upgrade in the future!

Guys, thanks a lot for your replies! Helps me :)

I'm thinking of going with the HX650 then, though I have one question, will the HX650 almost be stressed out or not at all? If I spend the money I wanna do it right, if it's much better to get a HX750/850, also for future purpose then I'd rather spend my money on that :)

Nvidias 8800GTX and intels Q6700 are not renound for their power efficiency, yet my system lightly overclocked (3ghz), a bunch of led fans, optical drive, and dual hard disks bearly hits 225W when gaming. Sure it peaks a little higher, I've seen 300W occasionally on my meter but thats it.

a 650W supply is more than enough for the majority of PC's, especially a quality supply like the seasonic made TX650 supply. Infact in a non overclocked setup, it would probably be able to handle an SLI of at least two 260GTX's
