Which CPU block fits P5E?

My XSPC Delta V2 had problems as the mounting plate hits the fins on the NB/MOSFET cooling, so i've gone back to air for now.

However i'd like to go back to water, so before I buy anything which CPU blocks actually fit on the P5E without any modification?

Well the D-Tek Fuzion v2 will fit as it doesn't use a mounting plate.

Do yourself a favour and take the heatpipe contraption off. It's not copper and it's not that good anyway. Stick a XSPC Delta X20 NB block on the NB and a Zalman NB heatsink on the SB. It's what i have done and it has worked out extremely well for me.

The XSPC edge fits. It's a tight fit but it just fits in there nice and snug.

Attempted to do just that when I first got it, but the damn thing is solid as a rock.

I bought the board 2nd hand and the epoxy they use on the NB has set solid, there's no way i'm getting it off without tearing the chip off the board lol

Yeah the Fuzion V2 looks a good choice.

I'm supprised the Edge fits, as the Delta I had the plate was way into the alu fins block above the mosfets.

Hmmm

Take the board out and use a hairdryer and should soften the material and just some of your cleaner on the edges of it if you can.

Hairdryer works.

That's what i had to use. Be very careful though. The NB is the hard part as it has a big IHS on it. The mosfet heatpipe can stay put as it is seperate and does the job ok.

Did the whole hairdryer thing, didn't make a blind bit of difference to it, this thing is stuck fast, other than bending the board scary amounts and making horible creaking noises that freaked me out.

I've seen pics of peeps that have ripped the NB clean off P5E's trying to remove the cooling, I didn't want to be one of those

I have a Fuzion V1 on mine, I also took all the heatpipes off, used XPSC for northbridge, wouldn't recommend as it is a pain to fit, reckon there must be ones that have better mountings
I also watercooled the Mosfets aswell.
As for SB I never bothered using water on that as I am using both slots for my vid cards, so I used a solid copper heatsink, not much cheaper than a block and cools very well.
Once watercooled it overclocks very well, have my Q9300 on a 490 fsb which is quite good for this board.
Hex got unlucky my heatsinks came off easy with a hairdryer.

I saw those pictures. Some guy used a screwdriver to lever the damn thing off. LOL!!

In what way was it a pain? There are only two screws!! It just so happens that they are the same thread as the NB motherboard backplate which is what i screwed mine into. That way you only have to put on the washers and do up the two thumbscrews.
