Hi all,

Building a PC for someone and at present I currently for my own PC am using a Gelid cooler even though its clip sits over the first dimm slot.

Looking to spend up to £50 on the cooler but needs to be easy to install and can cool an AMD Phenom 6 core 1100T.

I was thinking about putting a Gelid on it but on my CPU the temps are around 36c idle using Arctic Thermal paste 4. So wondering since its a 6 core will the temps be even higher?

I have the Coolermaster V6GT its fantastic, i have my 1100T at 4.20GHZ and the idle temps hovers around 32'c

Bit old school but I use a thermalright ultra extreme (TRUE) with an apache fan on my 1055T.

what are the prime load temps like for your 1100T DF1986? I have the arctic 7 on my 1055T and it too idles 32-34 but after 20 mins prime can easily reach 62c, although still to top 55c after hours of intense gaming

So i dont recommend the arcitc :P If you have up to £50 and want the best why not get the silver arrow when its back in stock, or else something like the akasa venom for great cooling and around £38

have you already bought the 1100T or is it still in the shopping basket?

if its in the shopping basket i suggest you remove it as fast as possible and replace it with an i5 2500k, or even an i5 2300 because it will be far better.

if you already have it then not to worry, its still a good processor. for the cooler i would make sure your getting low profile RAM like corsair XMS3 or kingston and a case with 163mm CPU cooler clearance and then buy a thermalright silver arrow

I top out at about 56'c after a few hours of prime

Sorry the constant talk of i5 2500k is making me feel ill, its like all those Apple users out there...

Sorry I only buy AMD.
