OK Guys

I'm looking to replace the cooler on my CPU. I am currently running a Q6600 at stock with the stock cooler.

This cooler gets bloody noisy when i am running games, plus I'm also going to start some overclocking soon.

So, which cooler is the best bet. I've heard that the Tuniq tower is supposed to be good. Any others to consider...

Cheers in advance

the best is the thermalright ultra120 extreme, but it is plauged with curved base problems, the tuniq tower follows very closly behind and has a lot fewer reports of the need for lapping on this forum

Depends on your budget and how much hassle you want tbh

Artic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro:

Should see you to around 3.4ghz

Tuniq Tower like you said should get you to around 3.5/3.6ghz

or...

Thermalright Ultra 120 - Extreme (on offer atm!)

Will see you from 3.6ghz+ depending on the power of the fan you put on it.. you will need to buy a 120mm Fan for this cooler.. and also the base of the heatsink may need lapping.. but if you spend sometime on it is the best air CPU cooler going

Also depends on you CPU / montherbard of course and how well they clock

Thanks for your quick replies.

Well I think that I will go for the best then...

Going to order the Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme. Especially as it's on offer...

Will have to wait and see whether it needs lapping or not...

Cheers for your help.

lapping is not as hard as it sounds, you can buy kits for it and as long as you take it slow then should be fine, plenty of guides about
