Hi guys i am looking at upgrading from NF2 to NF4, specifically the DFI NF4 SLI Expert..........what i am kind of looking for is some guidance on a half decent Ocing cpu for this mobo, money i will stretch to about the £200-£250 mark for processor, i am unsure of whats a decent stepping and was just wondering what users would recommend. Mmmm i might stretch further on the money for the cpu so any advice would be welcome.
I will hopefully be running dual GFx in sli....and sata raid0, OCZ psu and mem as well.
Thanks in advance :)

Okay i hadnt yet looked at gfx as i am still getting to grips with the whole NF4 drama, am still gathering research as it were.

Mmm so get one sli card for now and wait till they drop in price later in year and then get another is that what yer saying?

Seeing as i am here how about HSf for cpu any advise and while i am on it what about mem. Am looking at the 520w OCz powerstream to power it but might go the 600w though its a bit more pricey.

ROFLMAO oh aint that the truth man, aint that the sore truth........:)

Smids:= Yes i here what yer saying an Rgonian ;) dude kind of said same thing to me, "wait for next gen cpu/mobo", but to be truthful i will not be able to afford what is coming, my megre wage wont stretch to the high end stuff as its released so i gotta go middle of the road usually, off course waiting a few months might also help with prices drops etc. I will see, but like i said this is just the research bit afore i do hit the (youve lost a $heet load of money already button)..........................

Yup okay sold on the Opty 165 (1mb)

ANd the X1800xt card gonna have a look see at that. Scythe Ninja as well Ta for dat dudes......

Okay i see what yer saying now about GFX yes i would prob do that anyway, i used to buy a lot of stuff from here but a lil harder to do now as it changes a wee bit LOL.

Mem okay i see a lot of folks using Gskill stuff , i wonder if old BH5 will work? Any one ran that in any of these DFI NF4 mobo. I got 2 sets of it and it runs high and tight on NF2, dont know how it would fair on this platform though.

<<<<<<S939 is not middle of the road.

And the majority of S939 users won't go to AM2 staright away. >>>>>>>>

No i know its not middle of the road, it was just a "saying" never ment to dis it ;)

<<<<<<if you want 1:1 then get the fastest.>>>>>>> Mmmmm i see a few on OCersUK which ones???????? The 4800 stuffs?????

<<<<<If you want tight timings get the low latency stuff.>>>>> A decent OC with reasonable timings would be cool im not too bothered about them being too tight :)

<<<<<And if you win the pools get redline mushkins(they will do both)>>>>> LOL :) yer not kidding thats steep, would love to run them but cant justify that price.

What about this stuff G.Skill 1GB DDR LA PC4800 (2x512MB)?????????

Mmmm okay is there no impact on OCing how high you can go in say using a 2gb compared to a 1gb, it used to be that 256b stick OCed higher than say a 512mb stick or 1gb. Is this not the case with these newer sticks of mem?????
