Which CPU is best value for money?

I'm getting an AMD dual core CPU, as i've been told that dual core is the future. >_> Anywho, there are a lot of cards, that seem quite similar in spec. Slightly faster clock speeds and so on, but the difference in price is quite big.

So which of them is best value for money? I've never overclocked before and i don't know how so i doub't i'll start. I just want a CPU to go with my X1900XT and will run Oblivion at full settings.

AMD 3700 San Diego then overclock it


Or get the AMD 3800 Dual Core and overclock that

I have no idea how to overclock. Will the 3800+ be fine without? I can probably afford to go for a more expensive CPU if not.

I have no probs overclocking and I can almost be classed as retarted. hehe These days overclocking as gotten even easier. I'd say Lanparty have made overclocking so easy but dfi arn't cheap. I think Asus has also make things easier but not as easy as DFI but it's easier to find Asus mobos at friendly prices.

Your on a site called overclockers- The best place to get advice on overclocking. Once you start you will be wanting more free upgrades. Good luck with it.
