Which CPU is better? AMD Phenom II X2 545, Intel i3 540, Intel i3 550

P.S - Also which one is better after overclock?

Having a quick look the Intel seems faster and I suspect will overclock much better.

Doesn't really matter in this case.
The Intel's better clock for clock, has HT and clocks further.
It's just better in every level.
The fastest of the lot is the i3 550

Currently I have AMD II X2 545 CPU, you think I should keep the CPU or get the Intel i3 550? I will use it for gaming and performance,

P.S - Even if the AMD II X2 545 unlocked to quad core, Intel i3 550 is still better?

Oh, if you've already got the AMD X2 525, keep it, it wouldn't be worth the upgrade, unless it was free.
If your X2 unlocks to an X4 stable, then they really compete with each other.
In processor intensive things, you'd expect the X4 to outpace the i3.
But it's really a toss up.

The performance of the AMD II X2 545 and the i3 are no where near the same, however, the the X2 unlocked is pretty on par with the i3.

It's a very strange upgrade tbh, the 1156 platform is EOL.

So should I spend £70-80 on the Intel i3 550 or just keep the AMD II X2 545 and try unlock it?

You shouldn't spend the 70-80 on upgrading to an i3 550, you'd need a new board etc.
You should try to unlock your X2 depending on what cooler you've got.

The X2 unlocked will have similar and in some cases better performance than the i3 550.

did acc unlock all cores ... still just showing 2 .....am i doing something wrong ? mobo in spec
