nexxos XP,
Swiftech Apogee,
XSPC block,

(all on half inch)

i ask because i have orderd the nexxos from fleebay but the guy claims its gone missing in the post...

"This item was mailed out from here last week, the same day you bought it.
You should have it by now.

Royal Mail have probably lost it.

Normally if RM loose a package, i just send out another one. But, you got
the last NexXxos block i had in stock. I've got a few more on the way from
Alphacool, but these are going to take a few days to get here.

I'm really sorry about this. You can either hang on a few days, and see if
either your missing block arrives, or if more arrive from Alphacool so I
can forward you another one. Alternatively i can give you a refund, or
switch your order to a Swiftech Apogee or XSPC block." - blokey from fleebay.

so i need to know which block is better.

thanks :)

I am in the same situation. Waiting for the same bloke to send my Xp block!

It will be replacing the Apogee that is part of my Apex Ultra kit.

With the spec in my sig will the temps be any different?

Rgds Matt

Very hard to say. The biggest variable will be the mounting. If you have a great mount with your APogee, anything but a great mounting with the XP will likely be worse. If you have a poor mounting now, the XP will be almost certainly better but IMO, the difference is unlikely to be worth the cost and effort required.

well... i said this...

"ah i see, well given royal mails issues with losing things and give i paid £4 postage for an item that weighs less than 600 grams, may i suggest you pay the extra 60p and send these things via recorded delivery in future?. I have looked up the performance benchmarks for the Nexxos, Swiftech Apogee and XSPC block, i believe i will have to wait for the Nexxos XP block as it has the heighest thermal tolarence and performance of the 3. "

and he said this...

"Hiya,

Paying the extra 60p would not be the problem- its the extra hour i have
to spend in the post office every day filling in the paperwork to send
stuff recorded. The day Royal Mail sets it up so we can send stuff
recorded without all the hassle, i'll start shipping everything recorded.
For now it actualy works out more economic for me to let Royal Mail loose
5% of my packages than it does to send everything recorded :(

And for the record, the performace from the swiftech block beats the
nexXos block significantly. I've tried both. Where are you getting your
results from?"

a lot of people judge the apogee as the revamp storm (not sure if it was relaesed to replace the storm or not) thats why it gets a lot of praise but it doesnt live up to it. in most cases the apogee and nexxos will perform almost to the same level so its down to whether you want to wait for his delivery to arrive or whether you want to start using ya pc now

Compare the Storm G4 (the Swiftech version performs slightly beter), the Nexxox XP, and the TDX (compares to an Apogee). Hardly a massive difference between the Nexxos and Storm.

but i havent mentioned a storm  im not even sure what one is :(

EDIT: ah i c, i had a look at the site which tells me i should definatly go for the nexxos, i still dont know where the storm came from though ???

lol, the Apogee is the replacement for the Storm waterblock as sold in Swiftech kit's. The Apogee has been the subject of much debate with Swiftech's "questionable" marketing.
