Which CPU waterblock?

I now have all my water cooling stuff with the exception of the CPU waterblock.

I hoped to get my hands on a Swiftech Apogee GTX but they seem to be rather hard to get hold of. The GTX has a slightly beveled base so it makes a tighter contact on the IHS so makes it a better block.

Is it worth waiting for I should I go for an alternative?

The XSPC X2O Delta by comparison has a flatter base. Although not as good as the GTX is still supposed to be pretty good, although I've read to go for the rev 2 for better fluid rates.

What do you think?

The XSPC "Edge" and the Dtek Fuzion V2 are the current best performing blocks.

The XSPC X2O Delta V2 is a belter of a cpu cooling block and better than the Swiftech Apogee GTX.

The XSPC Edge Acrylic CPU is one degree better than D-Tek Fusion V1 and similar flowrate to the Delta

The king of the hill is still the D-Tek Fuzion V2 and about 1.5 degrees better than the Edge but it is a very restrictive cpu block so you need a very good pump/on it's own loop.

Both the XSPC x20 Delta V2 and Edge are both very low restrictive blocks so makes life easier if you are going to cool more than the cpu on a single loop.

I have the X20 Delta V2 and its superb, and a great price.

However it has now been improved on by the Edge, which would be my current block of choice, better than the old Delta, and massivly less restrictive than the new one.

The EK Supreme is also worth looking at. Tho I'd still go for the v2 Fuzion. Get its quad nozzle too if you've got a quad-core (the special one for v2, not the old nozzle pack).

Yeah the best but so,so, soooooooooooo restrictive!

You need a top notch pump and ideally just cooling the cpu on that loop alone to get away with the v2 fuzion with quad nozzle.

Hence the giving of the option of the less restrictive but almost as good Edge.

At the end of the day 1.5 degrees is not a lot a difference and the low restriction might be crucial if the op is putting a nb and/or gfx block on the same loop.

Can't say it really matters. I'm running one with 11/8mm tubing, a northbridge block, and a crappy XSPC pump & res combo and they're keeping my Q6600 cool.
