I havent upgraded my PC in a number of years and the time as now come.#

I have been looking into the new range of CPUs and the market is an absoloute nightmare!!!!

There are now so many different types of CPU the mind boggles to what I should get!

I am building a HTPC which will capable of handling HD content in the future.

So after looking into it abit im guess im looking for a 3.2 ghz system.

So what are my choices?

Apparenlty AMDs a cooler than the Intels and hence are better for HTPCs.

Is the AMD 3200+ just as quick as the Intel P4 3.2 ?

if anybody can offer advice i would be grateful

I want to make sure the Media Centre is good enough to handle future HD requirements.

I know the correct Graphic Cards, tuners and dvd drives arent really avialable yet but I dont want to have to invest in a Mobo, Cpu and memory and then have to change it again.

Im guessing if I choose a AMD 3200+, a good motherboard that can handle the dual core AMDs etc I should have a system which I will be able to up date in the future to handle any HD requirements.
