hi can anyone tell me which processor is better for vista and gaming should i purchase a Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 "LGA775 Conroe" 3.00GHz (1333FSB) - Retail or a Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 "LGA775 Kentsfield" 2.40GHz (1066FSB) - Retail

I'd personally go for the quad.. with some decent memory, you'll be able to up the FSB anyway.

Clock it to 3.0GHZ and thats plenty fast enough.

Yes you can clock the E6850 to 4GHZ but i believe the diffrence between 3GHZ and 4GHZ is much less as opposed to 2 to 4 cores.

If you look at the AnandTech Benchmarks you can clearly see that the E6850 beats the Quad in most games but the fact of the matter is that the Quad, in reality isn't that far behind the E6850 anway.

Quad all the way if you ask me, cant wait to get one.
