Hiya all, im in the process of buying a new processor, but i dont know which one to go for.. The one i really want is the E6750 4mb cache and want to try and clock it over 4 ghz.. Or next its the E4400-E4300 which ive read everywhere they overclock with no haslle at all... Then my last choice E2140 or E2130.. And the board im using is the gigabyte P35 DSR its still waiting in its box until i make my mind up on the cpu.. Any help would be great thanx guys

difficult question there the performance of the E6750 versus E4400 is almost the same, The E6750 would go on air easily 3.6 a 3.8 depending on your ram. E2140 or 2130 i don't think that you will get to 3.6 Ghz. combine E6750 with crucial balistix pc5300c3, or pc6400c4 and you would be good for 3.8 without to much problems but everything depends on your cpu, not all of them will clock as high with fair additional vcore

I may be wrong but doesnt a Exx50 core limit your oc a little as its running at 1333mhz fsb?
though i think a E21xx should be your first choice over a E4xxx especially the E2180 with its 10x multi it will be quite possible with its m0 stepping that 3.6ghz+, all you really get with a E4xxx series is higher l2 cache wich in real terms for gaming does minimal differance.
my advice take a close gander at the E2180 i think if your planning on overclocking this should be a serious contendor for your top spot mate.

yeh like i say wasnt to sure about the Exx50's just something i must have picked up wrong but the E2180 definatly worthy a look

Thanks for the input guys , but i went ahead and ordered the E6750.. i think all the processors have there pro and cons. The main reason i went with this one is i dont plan another for a long while and this should hold me over for 18months or so. Ill keep you all updated on the results i get while overclocking too. just hope i made the right decision:rolleyes:

Nice one mate... Ive ordered a freezer pro 7 too . I think that should be ok for now, I will have to do anyways cos now im skint lol.
