hi im thinking of gettin a new cpu but dont know which to get, i currently have the core 2 duo e6600, is the
Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 "Energy Efficient SLACR 95W Edition" 2.40GHz

worth the swap

dont want to change mobo or ram

would the Q9550 work with my current mobo

its defiantly an upgrade though maybe not as worth while as a e8400 etc

rather than upgrading your cpu, you may want to add 2gb of ram and maybe a new video card (4870 or 260 maxcore or higher depending on budget and resolution u play at) - you will definely benefit in games with that more than a cpu upgrade

im getting another 2 gb of ram, i game at 1920x1200

good start, since you have nvidia board may want to consider a 260maxcore, seems like lots of people are really happy with it, or 280gtx - depending on your budget of course

ps probably get about £80 for your 88GTX on member market or more if you are lucky
