Hi All,

Firstly I'd like to say Hi and secondly I'd like to apologise for the 'entry-level' question coming.

I'm hoping to build a new PC in the new year. The machine will be mainly for gaming (hopefully reasonably high end; £800 - £900 budget without monitor). Just wondering if seomeonc ould run me through the best options with regard to CPU options as it's been a while since I've been in the market for new hardware.

Cheers

If you hold on until 9th Jan Intel launch there new range of cpu's.

Otherwise look at the Intel i5 760 cpu which is pretty good at gaming and can be overclocked to 4ghz with ease :)

Gigabyte GA-P67-UD3
Intel 2500
2 x 2GB DDR3 ram (get the cheapest at the time)
AMD HD6850
Corsair 450 PSU
OCZ 2E 60GB SSD

That is basically a very good system and should come in well under your budget.
