Hi im looking at 3 pcs but not sure which 1 i should buy. There all second hand and have the same ram and hard disk. The only difference is the cpu. 1 has a intel core 2 quad 2.40Ghz (Q6600).
2nd has a quad core amd phenom 945 3.0Ghz.
3rd has a amd phenom 2 x4 925 2.80Ghz
There all similar price and will be using the pc for music production, FL studio and reason. What one would be best for me?
thanx for any help.

Hi there, May I ask how much they each cost and what motherboards they are using?

On a gut reaction, I would go with the 945 - so long as it is used with an AM3 board and DDR3 RAM, as you should will have some decent CPU upgrade options available for in the future.

If you look at this comparison, the 3.0GHz Phenom II 940 (which is very similar to the 945, except it is an AM2+ chip) beats the Q6600 in pretty much every test. Though you could argue that the Q6600 can overclock quite a bit further than the Phenom II - so long as it is using a decent board and is the G0 stepping.

Yea, the 2nd PC sounds like the all-round better PC:

- fastest CPU of the lot
- Modern DirectX 10 graphics card
- 1TB HDD
- monitor included (22in as well which is pretty good)
- Good price

Just make sure you are dealing with a reputable seller. If you can't verify this then you would be better off posting a thread in the General Hardware part of this forum asking for a spec for a low-cost PC made out of new parts.
