which cpu?

The haswell is a different socket I believe, so no.

The i5 is probably the best choice for gaming. I have the 3770k, my friend has the 3570k, no difference whatsoever. His computer keeps up with mine perfectly well, even in benchmarks.

With gaming, as long as the CPU isn't a bottleneck, the graphics card will make the biggest difference by far.

It'll make a difference in processor intensive applications like encoding, rendering etc. but not for games :).

The 3570k is the obvious choice if your main use is gaming. The hyper threading of the i7's is basically useless in that case
