Right, I'm at the point where I can sell my cpu, mobo, ram and cooler for about £250 to my bro. I've recently purchased another 780 to sli and a 780t corsair case with a h110.

Question is do I go 5820k or a devil canyon cpu? I game at 1440p and do video editing and converting etc

Not sure what temps will be like and what's going to last me, my 2500k has lasted 3 years and it's been great.

Thanks

If you were going to keep the RAM it would be a bit trickier, but given that you are in effect starting fresh then the 5820k would seem the obvious choice. The extra cores will aid in longevity as well, given your usage.
