Hi all.

Im planning on starting a new PC build within the next couple of weeks, it will be for gaming mainly.

Slightly confused weather I should get a skylake 6600k or a 4690k.
I will be overclocking the processor at some point aswell.

There doesnt seem to be much in price difference between the 2 processors.
Is it worth getting the skylake and ddr4 ram, or just stick with a 4690 and ddr3 ram?

Cheers

Cheers for your replies guys.

There is only a tenner difference between the K and non-K 6600 processors, so I think i'll just get the K chip which should help with overclocking, unless its really not worth the extra tenner?

Cheers for your replies guys.

I was going to be building the system slowly over a few pay checks as i dont have much money.

I'll take the 6400 into consideration.

Cheers

With having to disable the integrated graphics, I may have to save a little longer and buy a graphics card at the same time rather than at a later date.

Are there only a select few motherboards which can be unlocked to overclock the 6400 chips?
