As per title, i'm wondering which is the most GFX intensive game on the current market. It used to be FEAR at one point but i'm a bit behind now. And yeah before anyone say... i've tried search but it came up with nada :p

Probably Oblivion i guess :) looks stunning

Armed Assault is the most demanding game I have ever put on my system

Put GFX settings on high , set view distance to 4Km and have a rip around the island in a chopper or jet ... looks amazing

Pong.

On a serious note, TDU in some places kills performance with 4xAA and HDR on... due to poor coding tbh. 8xAA = 7fps lol

What res is that at? I run at 1440x900 with 16xAA/16xAF + HDR and all on hight and always around 30+ fps, allthough with smoke goes down to like 10fps but no AA/AF and HDR turned off there is no performance increase over AA/AF and HDR turned on.

me too i have a gtx and i run it at 1280x1024 all high 16xaa and 16xaf at between 40-50fps, never seen it dip below 39 (except in riduclous smoke it goes into the high 20's). beautiful looking game though by the way :)

Yea, the thing that puzzles me is that I was talking to a guy from these forums right, and he has a 7600GS, I think he could run at medium settings or high, dunno like, but he said he dont get a mega performance drop in full cover smoke so I wonder why the 8800's do, surely it still cant be down to drivers

Has to be dirt.

I tend to get about 40 fps or more generally on max everything (8800gts + E6600 @ 3ghz 2 gig ram etc etc) but its amazing how smooth that feels.

40fps on some types of games (noticably fps shooters) would feel awful.

Have any of you played Splinter Cell Chaos Theory on the PC? The characters look pretty crappy but the environments look awesome, tons of really good realistic shaders and parallax mapping along with real time soft shadows and HDR makes it look better than games like Oblivion in some respects and it certainly looks better than STALKER. Some of the surfaces in the game really look like you could reach out and touch them. For instance the cargo ship mission, take a look at some of the walls, they have a realistic wet look to them as though damp, and they dont look completely flat either, in some places they appear to be bowed and warped slightly. Also, all the little scratches and dents on them have depth and catch specularity from light sources. I still have yet to see a game that looks better in terms of shaders and real time lighting and shadows.
