Hey all.
I use my PC for matched betting most days, and general internet use. The odd game too.

I currently have 2 x Dell 2412Ms. They are 1200P and are IPS.
I have had them 5 years and fancy an upgrade.

This has caught my eye:

It looks wonderful and I would stump up the cash for it.
I realise that 1440p superwide will make my graphics card crap itself, but I will rememdy this come the next generation of AMD cards.

Is curved superwide worth it over my 2 x 24" 16:10 screens?
Is the Acer Predator Freesync the best option for £600?

Curved super-wide is amazing. Buy it. Now. Do not hesitate. You will need new GPU(s) to get the most out of it in games, but you won't be disappointed.

I bought the 21:9 Asus ROG and it's amazing! My friend bought the X34 and I can tell you that the difference is minimal as the panels are the same.

Buy buy buy. Or wait for the Q4/Q1 releases if you have the willpower.

Cheers :)

to reduce backlight bleed to nothing, my monitor is set at about 25% brightness (it's about 80 out of the box)

Still looks stunning to me

Collected my x34 today..... Now I have spent the last 20+ years playing console games on tvs which have limited me to 60fps.

After setting up the monitor and installing my new GTX1080 I loaded up Raceroom.... Oh my bloody gawd. This monitor plus powerful graphics card... I'm truly gobsmacked right now. I've never experienced such silky buttery smooth gameplay before.

Yeah i read a load of setup guides and reviews for the XR34 and some of them say to drop the brightness on the monitor to reduce back bleed. I dont know if people are trying that before they worry about the back bleed on their monitors.

I doubt it, i honestly forgot and worries myself. Reducing the brightness took it all away.

There is no need for 80% brightness at all, esp as I sit less than a meter away from it.

It's the first ultrawide monitor I've purchased. So can only comment on that one. Like I said... I'm loving it.

I'm sure that are other alternatives Of The Same level

I've got the dell U3415. Yeah, there's a little backlight bleed but it's hardly noticeable.
It's the main reason I've not gone for 4k. I love gaming on ultrawide.

Today I purchased the monitor in the OP.
Sadly I had to return it as it had a bit of dirt stuck behind the panel, but the replacement was fine.

Wow it is good! Also the jump from 60hz to 75hz is incredible. Loving BF4 at 3440x1440.

What was the replacement process like?
Were ocuk fine with doing that?
Did you have to pay return postage or any other out of pocket expenses?

This is going to sound incredibly dumb, however...

Considering a 980ti level card cannot really run a lot of the latest games at greater than 60fps @ 4k"(ish) resolution, surely the majority of the benefit of 75/100hz is lost?

That's why an ultrawide with 5 million pixels makes sense. Much easier to drive compared to a 4K screen with 8 million pixels.
